![]() ![]() I like my mid 2011 Mac which runs well, but can't run 72-bit programs. But all the options and discussion on the web are about UPGRADING the operating system.ĭiscussion on the web are about updating MACOS that are about updating MACOS older that Sierra, but not about updatingįyi, I purchased my first desktop computer in 1985, learned BASIC and since then I have followed the development of personal computers / computing. I have checked that it is possible to update an iMacOS this old. When I attempt to do this, I am offered an UPGRADE, which will not update my MACOS Sierra. I believe that to UPDATE it, I have to download an UPDATED version of High Sierra. ![]() I am currently running MACOS Sierra on this computer. These seem to be two quite different OS operations. I want to UPDATE the MACOS on my mid 2011 iMac, not to UPGRADE it. I have read your reply but, sadly, it does not help me.
